This is one of the best Telugu movies. Shankar Dada MBBS is the story about a village doctor, who lives with his grandmother and college-going sister. He's an accomplished surgeon, but he's still treated like an incompetant fool by all other doctors in the hospital. Things go from bad to worse when his personal ethics clash with those of his hospital employers and Shankar has to choose between money for his family or saving lives. The movie also stars music director M. M. Keeravani's son Yuvan Shankar Raja, who plays the hero in this one. The film has completed 100 days. The Music Was Composed By Chirantan Bhatt, M. M. Keeravani and Released by Aditya Music.The film was dubbed into Hindi as "Doctor Saab - The Real Hero", into Telugu as "Shankardada MBBS", into Kannada as "Mana Tula Suresha" and into Tamil as "Thindal Ramesh". It also went on to win two National Film Awards, including Best Actress for Nikita Thukral's portrayal of Shonali Bose in the Hindi version. The film was dubbed in Hindi as "Doctor Saab - The Real Hero" and released by Beyond Films. The film was dubbed in Telugu as "Shankardada MBBS". It was released on 1 February 2014 and received mainly negative reviews from critics and audiences alike. The director Umesh Katti, who also has written the dialogues, refused to believe this movie's box-office failure. He claimed that the film had an average Per Matinee collection of 60 lakhs and hence, could not have failed at the Box Office. He claimed that the film was released in 5 theatres and managed to collect only 2.50 crores. The box-office collection of the film was 2.5 crores after two weeks.The movie went on to win 2 National Film Awards at the 61st National Film Awards including Best Actress for Nikita Thukral's portrayal of Shonali Bose in the Hindi version. It also won 3 Nandi Awards from 12 nominations including Best Supporting Actress for Lavanya Tripathi who played a small role in the Hindi version of this movie, among other awards. The film was remade in Kannada as "Mana Tula Suresha" starring Duniya Vijay and Shruthi. It was directed by Om Sai Prakash of "Illu Illalu" fame. Shooting started in January 2014. The film released on 17 April 2014 to positive reviews from critics The film was remade in Tamil as "Thindal Ramesh" starring Jai, Rajkiran and Ramya Krishnan.
